Under general direction and within division policies and procedures, designs,
develops and implements test and statistical process control procedures to
achieve quality specification for all manufacturing processes.
Typical Duties:
1.
Design, develops and implements standards for inspection,
testing and evaluation using statistical process control (SPC) methods.
2.
Creatively innovate through design or acquisition any existing
quality tools or devices necessary for the process control and implementation
of test procedures.
3.
Directs employees engaged in measuring and testing products and
tabulating data concerning material quality and process reliability.
4.
Compiles and develops training material and conducts training
sessions on quality control activities.
5.
Can interpret and communicates relevant process data, charts or
reports in a timely manner.
6.
Must have moderate to high computer competency.
Understands basic computer equipment & corporate approved Microsoft
Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access).
7.
May develop criteria for acceptable quality levels of purchased
supplies and materials including coordination with key vendors to maintain
certification.
8.
Audits and analyzes process procedures as practiced in-house to
assure performance to specifications.
9.
Champion special quality & improvement projects as assigned
by Management.
10.
Conducts routine metallurgic testing on various internal battery
components.
11.
Interface with internal JCI customers & suppliers.
12.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Other required
qualifications or experience:
Two or more years of college level training or equivalent, plus 3-5 years
manufacturing experience. A bachelor’s degree and one-year related experience
may be substituted for above combination. Quality experience in ISO-9000,
QS-9000 or TS-16949 environment. CQE or CQA certificates
preferred. Willingness for shift work is a requirement
