Quality Control Manager - Caravan Ingredients

Description

Oversees, monitors, and coordinates team activities, giving importance to individual member's and overall team's achievement of established goals. Responsible for the quality process including critical process characteristics, standards, audits and complaint resolutions. Ensures team's goals are aligned with and representative of the overall company's directive. Acts as liaison between team members and the rest of the organization.

Additionally, this position will provide leadership to a group of laboratory employees engaged in the conversion of a variety of flour based raw materials into dry blended finished products containing varying degrees of secondary ingredients. A key objective of this position will be to coordinate with site leadership in moving to a work team environment. Of critical importance is a complete understanding that manufacturing is responsible for consistently delivering within the following areas; cost & productivity, consumer perceived quality & regulatory compliance, customer service, and people development.  Performs additional tasks as required to accomplish goals.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:  A Bachelor’s Degree is required in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science, or another similar field. 

Experience:  Minimum of five (5) years experience in a quality capacity

• This position requires a person with experience in food programs, including HACCP, GMP’s, SPC, as well as exposure to a TPM environment

• Makes sure that proper customer contacts are made and maintained whenever existing or new products require customer input. Provides support services to customers for gauging, measuring techniques and tolerance specifications when required.

• Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over the quality of raw materials, facilities, and products.

• Assist in planning, support, and coordination of Quality Assurance program to ensure product and quality systems’ meet customer specifications and trains quality workforce in quality techniques and tools to ensure product requirements

• Communication of shift performance through verbal, documented and meeting formats to other Team Leaders, Production Scheduler, Plant Manager, Business Manager, and Maintenance Team Leader.
