Verify
the conformity, packaging integrity, and identification of materials received to
GARMIN part number specifications. Maintain and assure the integrity of
inspection records and facilitate the effective movement of products from
Receiving Inspection to stock.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:
- Review
transaction documentation to verify correct receipts
- Unpack material
containers as required to prepare for inspection, while preserving the package
condition as received
- Perform
inspection of materials to authorized part number specifications and any
assigned GARMIN Receiving Inspection work instructions
- Follow the
GARMIN Procedures for inspection plans for determining the sample rates of units
to test / verify
- Initiate
non-conforming material reports and follow GARMIN procedural requirements for
proper disposition
- Notify
management of any conditions felt as being undesirable or inaccurate for
parameter measurement
- Notify
management of any procedures or inspection methods that can not be performed as
documented
- Record and log
job order assigned as part of procedures
- Re-pack units
and contents with care so that the new conditions are preserved
- Compliance with
HRD-003 (Garmin's Attendance Policy)
OTHER
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Comply with all
corporate and departmental policies in the performance of work or workplace
activities
- Perform any
tasks or duties required to support the GARMIN International operation, as
directed by department or corporate management on an as needed basis
- Maintain
effective work areas where performing work to products, or parts thereof, to
provide for: operator safety, and assurance from product damage or contamination
that could be caused by any foreign materials such as Electro Static Discharge
(ESD) producing materials, food or drinks
EDUCATION,
EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- High school
diploma or equivalent
- Verbal,
interpersonal, and written communication skills, to provide for work related
communications with peers and personnel from other departments (direct contact
and use of electronic mail systems)
- High degree of
dexterity and eye coordination, to allow manipulation and handling of small and
delicate parts, fixtures and test equipment, in the performance of essential
functions
- Visual acuity to
distinguish colors (Red-Green-Blue) and shades of gray, to allow differentiation
of colors and textures in materials
- 1+ years
mechanical inspection experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or
Coordinate Measurement Machine's (CMM's)
- Strong math and
measurement skills, ability to convert English/Metric units of measure and
calculate tolerance limits
- Ability to lift
up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques
DESIRABLE
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ years
electronic assembly or electronic system test/repair, to provide knowledge of
component function, style, and handling precautions
- 1+ years higher
education in Associate or Vocational program in computer science, electronics,
industrial science, or quality systems
