SECTION DATABASE

| Basic function: |
Supports the Section
Committee Chairs by providing them with Section rosters,
lists, labels, statistics, and reports as needed. |
| Responsibilities: |
Download, via the Internet,
as often as necessary to keep an updated Section roster.
The Section will no longer receive hard copies of
membership information and is dependent on the Database
Chair to keep an updated list. Provide Section
committee members with necessary information/ forms/files
available from the Internet including but not limited to
labels, sorts, and queries from the membership list.
Help maintain integrity of database by periodically
reviewing Section roster for entry errors.
Maintain privacy of Section mailing list.

| Qualifications: |
Must be an ASQ member. Must
have access to a computer and the Internet.
(Users without Internet accounts will not be able to
access E-Rosters after June 30, 1998).
Strong PC database skills and thorough knowledge of
the software you will be using to manipulate the data are
required.
Familiarity with the Internet beneficial.

| Time Commitment: |
Approximately 2-4 hours per
month, depending on requirements of other Section
committee people and time of year. |

An opportunity to use PC
skills in cooperation with serving the Section on the
board. Support Section by providing better Section list
management. |
Special Note: Membership
Chairs do not necessarily have to be the Database Chair. It is
imperative that the Database Chair have the above qualifications.
Database Chairs are responsible for disseminating the information
to the Membership Chair in particular. Please inform
other Section leaders that they should be getting membership
information from the Database Chair. If other Section
volunteers want access to electronic membership information, they
may be given it, but only if there is a Database Chair in place
already and the additional volunteer has the above
qualifications. The Database Chair is the primary person
responsible for providing membership lists or labels, etc., and
the primary contact for information regarding accounts, system
changes, or other information regarding this program. |
